Martian Successor Nadesico (1996)

A la fin du XXIIième siècles, les terriens ont colonisé la Lune et Mars. Cependant, des vaisseaux aliens hostiles déciment la flotte spatiale chargée de défendre les colonies de Mars, qui sont rapidement envahies et anihilées. Une jeune pilote, Akito Tenkawa, vit cet épisode peu glorieux dans les abris sous terrains qui protègent la population civile d'Utopia. Les ennemis arrivent hélas à investir la place et tout le monde périt à l'exception d'Akito qui reprend mystérieusement conscience sur la Terre.

La situation devient critique : La Lune et Mars sont entièrement tombés dans le giron des extra-terrestres qui ont une technologie plus avancée que les terriens. Devant le danger, la puissante organisation NERGAL a mis au point un super vaisseau le Nadesico, dont une partie des élements provient d'une civilisation martienne disparue. Un équipage spécial a été recruté pour le conduire, un équipage vraiment très spécial. Nous y trouvons une capitaine exubérante mais douée, Yurika Misumaru secondée par son ami Aoi Jun ainsi qu'une experte scientifique, Ruri Hoshino, véritable misantrophe ou encore Megumi Rainerd, officier de liason (mais également comédienne doubleuse!) et Minato Haruka qui n'est pas moins que l'ancienne assistante du président de la Terre Unifiée.

Dans cet équipage disparate, vient se greffer par hasard notre ami Akito. Il est traumatsé par son expérience martienne et s'est juré de ne plus piloter. Cependant, il est un ami d'enfance de Yurika et en la suivant il se retrouve au coeur du quartier général de la NERGAL. Engagé en tant que cuisinier, il doit utiliser ses talents de pilote dès le premier jour pour faciliter l'intervention du Nadesico contre les envahisseurs.
